I was commissioned by Hampton Court palace in London to create these two knights as part of their year long celebration of the painting ,”Field of cloth of gold”. They took about 3 months to create – and they were 10 feet high and about 15 feet long. (For horsey people the horses were 18 hands high.)
The White knight is King Henry VIII of Britain and the light brown knight is the king of France-Frances I. They are both made of various colours of natural willow and also include dyed willow for the bunting and reins. They were both made with box frame steel basesĀ for stability.
Unfortunately, the corona Virus happenedĀ here in Britain and so their debut at Hampton Court palace is delayed!!
